This sacred path, representing the Stations of the Cross, also appears as a symbolic element in Pasolini&#8217;s film <em>The Gospel According to St. Matthew<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>On the left, another chapter of history is revealed: the large building of the former Italian military barracks, the <strong>Costantino Brighenti Infantry Barracks<\/strong>. Built between 1928 and 1932 during Italian expansionism, the complex was inaugurated in 1933 and was designed to house up to 4,000 soldiers. Its isolated location posed significant logistical challenges for the construction of the infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1957, this once-militarized space has taken on a different role, housing the <strong>Idrija Psychiatric Hospital<\/strong>.
