Description
The versatile Italian artist—writer, poet, playwright, director, philosopher, critic, and essayist—Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922–1975) spent the crucial years of his formation in Casarsa della Delizia. This time-space, intensely explored during the summers of his youth, remained deeply rooted in his memory and subconscious, becoming the lifeblood of his poetic work. For this reason, the Pasolini Trail in Casarsa was created, an itinerary that touches the places most intimately connected to the life and creativity of this extraordinary intellectual.
The guiding theme of the trail is his youthful discovery of the rural world and the Friulian language. Right here, riding his inseparable bicycle, Pasolini crossed domestic boundaries to explore the rural landscape and the banks of the Tagliamento river. The route, winding through urban streets and country lanes in a continuous chase between past and present, reveals the deepest roots of his thought and that unbreakable bond with the Friulian land that accompanied him throughout his entire life.
